History of Swingers

Modern swinging is believed to have started on military bases in the US during WWII, eventually spreading to the prosperous suburbs in the 1950s. The free love movement of the 1960s and 1970s led to a swingers revolution. Internet websites in the 1990s, and smart phones in the 2000s made swinging easy and safe for all couples.

Swinging in Movies

Swinging may be common in films today, but it was once considered too naughty for movies. Director Joe Sarno launched the swinger movie movement with his classic 1964 film “Sin in the Suburbs” followed by “The Swap and How They Make It”. By 1969 “Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice” brought swingers to mainstream Hollywood.
